THE GREENWAYS
A greenway is a corridor of communication developed for recreational purposes and / or to make daily trips required type (work, school, shopping, etc..), Also known as utilities, infrastructure is not accessible for motor vehicles.[1] A fundamental characteristic of these is the use and communication infrastructure rehabilitation partially or completely out of service, and, after preparation, is made available for non-motorized users such as pedestrians, cyclists, disabled, roller skating , skiers, riders, etc..[2]
The specificity of greenways refers to roads reserved for non-motorized. Are planned in a way that place value to the environment, encouraging the use of the greenway considering factors such as a sufficient width, a slight slope, continuous and good quality of the bearing surface that makes it accesibe for pedestrians cyclists, walkers, adults, children or users with any physical disability. It also is intended primarily for slow or lighter users who can use these routes to get to their places of work, on foot or by bicycle or as a link to go to any public transportation stop, for people with children, people who need to transport some kind of light load, the elderly or disabled, walkers and tourists, families, recreational, or simply as an area to encourage physical exercise.
One of the constant features of the greenway is mostly reusing, disused railway lines, roads, service leaks, pilgrimage routes, transhumance routes historical, agricultural and forest paths, roads, embankments, and so on. All these channels of communication are easily recognizable by their physical characteristics, their integration into the landscape and building elements that are sometimes present along these routes, as in the case of railways, stations, bridges and infrastructure. In the case of Mariachi Greenway, heritage railway on the route is a find.

Greenway projects and heritage are closely linked, since the concept of greenways, covers all aspects of the ecology, flora, fauna, geology and landscape. It also includes the architectural, archaeological, industrial heritage including rail and water areas, cultural issues such as history, folklore, customs, traditions and place names.[3]
The linear and continuous nature of these communication channels can be used for two purposes. To preserve and revalue the original use of communication channel and on the other hand, can serve as secure lines on which can be used for installation of infrastructure such as fiber optic networks, gas pipelines, or underground power lines.
